HAVEN: Elixir of Life – Update

Written by dcakers@dc-akers.com on January 26, 2016. Posted in Haven News

First off I would like to apologize for the lack of updates, I’m a bit of a recluse and I struggle with social media. Maybe I’m a bit more like Sam than I know.

So … what’s been happening? Will there be another Haven book and if so when will it be out?

Yes, I am still hard at work writing book 3 in the Haven Series. There is so much to tell in this part of the saga, so much that takes place with our beloved characters as they travel to this new and exciting world.

Because of this the Haven Team and I have been extremely careful not to rush things. It has been truly important to us to convey the peril, heartache, and the uncertainty these characters faced in their quest to try and save Sarah. Not to mention the Elixir of Life will introduce several new characters we’re sure you will grow to love just as much as we have.

Haven Histories

This is a new project that we have been working on simultaneously while writing Elixir of Life. This short story/novella series will help to chronicle Haven’s vast history.

Synopsis:  Journey back in time to where it all began. Haven Histories chronicles the past events of Haven’s most beloved characters, good and evil. See their lives as they were then, the decisions they made, the alliances they formed, and the people they betrayed along the way. Haven Histories—the past is not always as it seems.
Book 1 is now complete and ready for editing. There is no working title as of yet, but the first story will be about a young Keeper and his first solo mission. History refers to this Keeper as Rylan Dalcome. 🙂

Like many who enjoy the fantasy genre, Akers started reading it as an adolescent. He was fascinated with Tolkien's Lord of the Rings and Bram Stoker's Dracula. He currently enjoys reading works by Dean Koontz, Heather Brewer, J.K. Rowling, and Rick Riordan. Akers enjoys creating a fantasy world with compelling storylines, while injecting humor and a touch of drama into the action as he did with his first book Terra Vonnel and the Skulls of Aries, which has received rave reviews. "I start every story with this thought: Where can I take my audience now? To me it's about the journey, the escape into a world filled with the fantastic and the unexpected. There is nothing like an adventure that takes you further from reality with every turn of the page." D.C. Akers was born in Texas and after spending several years working in accounting, Akers began to pursue his childhood dream of becoming a writer.
